After we crossed under the Brooklyn Bridge we went up the Bowery. This is the view from downtown and was the first really good view we had of the devastation.A lot of people were stopping here to watch, and the traffic trying to get out of the city became evident to us. Most of the bridges, and a lot of the Avenues were being closed to all but emergency traffic.
